Longreach Camp - Term 1
This term, we headed off on Sunday to our first block at the college. Everyone was new to the experience except our seasoned traveller Kaitlyn, who is in her third year at Longreach!

Our groups were broken up into sections and this term Connor and Kalon were learning about Transmissions, Kaitlyn was learning about Occupational Health & Safety and the big group of Jesse, Raymond, Jake, Allison and Jade was learning about Preparing for Work.

We had a big week developing heaps of different skills. The big group probably had the most physical week putting together mowers, whipper snipers and blowers and then using them mowing and cleaning up around campus. They also pulled down fences and helped build shoeing boxes for the horse section.

Kaitlyn's group had a more classroom based week but also ventured out to the college station Manningham to fix flood fencing and maintain the farm area.

Kalon and Connor's group spent the week pulling apart and putting together transmissions on college vehicles. Oil spills are great too hey boys?

The week wasn't without its laughs and dramas. No one could forget Chappy Dirk's x-box experience or Mrs Fox's fat lip from the sandflies or Raymond falling through the chair with no back and defiantly not Jesse losing his whole dinner after tripping over a chair in the dining hall!!!

Don't forget the goat stuck on the railway bridge on the way home either......
